Event description

Open Access can make your work available to more people, spreading the real-world and academic impact of your work and improving your academic profile.

Australian Chief Scientist, Dr Cathy Foley at the Australian Press Club (17th March, 2021):

“Access to information is the great enabler for innovation and for research commercialisation. Lack of access to information is a real roadblock and hinders our ability to compete internationally.”

In this session, you will learn:

  • Open Access, Open Science and Open Research – overlapping concepts explained
  • Open Access globally (Plan S and other funder mandates)
  • Open Access in Australia
  • Open Access at UTS
    • UTS OA policy
    • Your research - Symplectic and OPUS
  • How to locate Open Access journals
  • How to avoid predatory publishers
  • How UTS Library can support you
