Open Architecture Talk Sibling Architecture | SOCIAL ACTS
Description
The School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Newcastle is delighted to be hosting Sibling Architecture through our Open Architecture Talk series. These talks are free and open for students, practitioners, and the broader community to come together and ‘open up’ our shared places, practices and projects. This public programming is part of our Visiting Architects and Experts project, that draws in a diversity of voices and perspectives to discuss, workshop and critique the built environment.
Talk Title| SOCIAL ACTS
Dive into Sibling from 2012 to today, tracing the evolution of our projects from the inside out. Through our work, we’ll share how we think about design interventions, from the very small to the large as social acts.
Bio| Sibling Architecture
Sibling Architecture is a research and design studio that makes positive places. Places that are socially engaged and economically sustainable, that encourage culturally rich and diverse communities, and that address the impacts of climate on our natural systems and resources.
We do this by thinking beyond buildings. Our research-based approach is driven by a keen interest in culture and connectivity, bringing fresh ideas and forms to every project, whether it is a building, landscape, strategy or experience.
We embrace curiousity. Our projects are playful, curious, approachable and inclusive, with genuine collaboration and engagement at the heart of our studio culture.
