Event description

OPEN CHRISTCHURCH 2022 Guided Walk: Discover Te Ara Pū Ha (South Frame)

With: Te Marino Lenihan (Kati Mamoe + Ngāi Tahu)

Join Te Marino for an urban ecosystem exploration past rain gardens, rongoā (traditional medicine) plantings and kai, and along Te Ara Pū Ha’s laneways, which speak to traditional Ngāi Tahu trails. Learn about how this place celebrates Ngāi Tahu natural and cultural heritage values from Matapopore’s project lead. From the significance of local stone to pre-colonial Māori society to landscaping that celebrates our native ecosystems, Te Ara Pū Ha is classroom, gathering space and connector - to natural processes, the environment and each other.
