Event description
OPEN CHRISTCHURCH 2023: Canterbury Terminating Building Society/Muse Art Hotel - Architecture Tour with Dean Cowell, Director, Three Sixty Architecture
Architects: B J Ager & Peter Beaven, 1960; Three Sixty Architecture, 2020
Hear from Dean Cowell, Director of Three Sixty Architecture, to learn about how his team transformed this modernist office building into a hotel and rooftop bar. Find out how they managed to adapt the building to its new uses, bring the building up to code while respecting the original heritage architecture and how they have celebrated renowned-architect Peter Beaven’s signature flourishes, such as the dramatic floating pavilion of the ultimate floor and the cornice slab that divides the building.
