Open Christchurch 2023: Hine-Pāka Bus Interchange Architecture Tour
Event description
OPEN CHRISTCHURCH 2023: Hine-Pāka Bus Interchange, Architecture Tour with Carsten Auer, Architectus
Architect: Architectus with Ngāi Tūāhuriri & Matapopore, 2015
Take a walk through one of the earliest anchor projects to be completed in the central city (designed and delivered within 18 months) with Carsten Auer, Director Principal at Architectus, and learn about how functional, design, civic and cultural drivers all meld together at Hine-Pāka Bus Interchange. Hear about how the layout and services have been optimised to facilitate the mass movement of people while creating a serene, pleasant atmosphere and how cultural narratives have been captured in artworks throughout the building, grounding the building with a sense of place.
