Event description

Join us on Saturday 25 May, 10am-4pm for the Adelaide Central School of Art Open Day.

Adelaide Central School of Art is an independent Institute of Higher Education located in the vibrant Glenside Health and Cultural precinct. Our Administration, Teaching Studios and Adelaide Central Gallery buildings are housed within state heritage Glenside Hospital buildings built in 1884 and 1899, respectively.

With award-winning renovations in 2012, our art school proudly operates within these richly historical walls while providing excellence in visual art education. Adelaide Central School of Art celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2022, starting out as a small art school in Bloor Court, Adelaide CBD founded by artist Rod Taylor and Heather Nicholson. The School continued to grow moving to Gilles Street and then Osmond Terrace in Norwood before settling into our beautiful heritage campus in Glenside.

If you are interested in studying at Adelaide Central School of Art, in the degree or short course programs, or are just curious to see what goes on at South Australia’s best art school,* come along to the campus and have a chat with us. There will be campus tours, lecturer presentations, students working throughout the building, open studios to view, as well as coffee and a bake sale. Our gallery will have a solo exhibition by revered painter Aldo Iacobelli (b. Naples) as well as a group exhibition by current degree students.

*According to national QILT survey results.
