Rā Tōmene | Open Day Volunteers – 2025

This is your opportunity to welcome potential future UC students onto campus!

The UC Communications and Events team is looking for volunteers for the following roles:

Campus Greeter – Welcome people to campus with a smile and a wave. You’ll be positioned along our trails and around campus to warmly welcome our visitors to UC.

Session Scanner– Scan attendees into sessions while being a friendly face.

Airport Ambassador - Stationed at Christchurch Airport, you will be warmly greeting our domestic and international out-of-town guests when they arrive. You will be the first face they see in Christchurch and a representative of UC. You’ll assist visitors with any questions they have and direct them to the free bus or other transport to their accommodation or Ilam Campus.

If you are not able to commit to a full shift, but you are interested in volunteering, please email us at events@canterbury.ac.nz and we can accommodate your availability. If you are able to do more than one shift (in the same role or two different roles) please register for both or do let us know!

If you’re interested, please review the roles available, check with your manager and register by 15 August. A compulsory event briefing will be held at 2:00pm in A1, North Arts on Wednesday 3 September.
