[Open Energy] Use case accelerator workshop: a data sharing Scheme to scale I&C flexibility

Open Energy is facilitating the collaborative development of a data sharing Scheme to accelerate Industrial and Commercial (I&C) participation in consumer led flexibility. It responds to a clear, under-served market need for I&C actors to be able to easily and securely exchange data between authorised parties for the purpose of assessing, planning, and implementing flexibility. 

Outcomes are mutually beneficial for I&C businesses, the wider grid, and Clean Power 2030 targets.  

This event aims to accelerate Scheme development by facilitating a deep dive into user needs and the data landscape. Outputs will be used to shape the agenda for Scheme advisory groups (Q3 2026 launch) and define the scope of an initial Pilot (early 2027 launch).

The event features a networking lunch, short presentations, facilitated breakout sessions, Q&A. Participants are invited to:

• Critically test the initial use case definition produced by Icebreaker One

• Explore user needs of different actors across use case (e.g. business case, value case, data needs)

• Define key roles and responsibilities within the use case 

• Explore the data landscape surrounding I&C flexibility and the data needs of Scheme users

• Facilitate connections and network building 
  

You will walk away with practical insights into the purpose and parameters of the Scheme, concrete actions your team can take to shape and participate in the Scheme, and access to a network of innovative thinkers shaping the future of I&C flexibility. 

Participation from I&C energy consumers, I&C trade bodies, energy networks, energy suppliers, flexibility service providers, aggregators, and innovators are particularly welcomed.
