  • Greg Churchill

    Greg Churchill

Greg Churchill is a rarity - someone labelled a legend who actually is. In a career that started in 1984, he’s defined - and redefined the art of DJing, performed with the heavyweights of house and techno and racked up UK chart hits, bagged a load of awards in the process , featured in a host of dance music publications, hosted multiple radio shows and most recently began sharing his knowledge and experience teaching and mentoring up and coming DJs. If it’s worth doing, Greg’s done it - and done it right. New Zealand’s “Godfather of House” started out on student radio in Christchurch in 1984. As the 90s neared, he and DJ Global Influence turned on the Garden City’s clubland to thehouse, hip hop and techno flooding out of the US and UK. Auckland beckoned, and in February 1996 Greg took over the reigns of the legendary Box nightclub, where he cemented his reputation with long, mesmerising sets on three turntables. The Box had three years earlier been ranked in the Top 10 Clubs in the World by ID Magazine. He was soon landing plaudits as a music-maker too. After meeting Darren Emerson on the 2002 Big Day Out tour, Greg signed to the Underworld man’s Underwater label (rated the #1 house/techno label by MixMag magazine in 2001). Two years later he became only the third NZ-based recording artist to hit the UK pop singles charts, doing it twice, first with Budonkadonk in May 2004 and later that year with Body Slander/Wrong Sound. His production CV includes releases and remixes on dance music heavyweights: Toolroom, Ministry of Sound (UK), Azuli, HedKandi, Underwater, Great Stuff, Gung Ho, Bosh, Shaboom, Vicious Records, Huh, Universal Records and many more. Along his journey Greg has played warm up and support duties for the likes of Carl Cox, Adam Beyer DJ Pierre, Deadmau5, Darren Emerson, DJ Sneak, Ashley Beedle, The Orb, Nick Warren, Sasha, John Digweed, Carl Craig, Dave Angel, Dave Clarke, Dave Seaman, Tomcraft, BT, Elite Force, Ian Pooley, Orbital, Rennie Pilgrem, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May , Sandy Riveria (KOT) Orbital..... Always eager to keep moving forward and never remain in the past Greg conquered the electro house scene as half of the nationally acclaimed Aural Trash alongside Angela Fisken also coinciding with their hugely popular radio show on George FM running from 2003 to 2014. In 2015 spent 12 months hosting the ground breaking “In It For The Kicks” radio show Nick Collings on Radio Hauraki. In 2016 Greg would later return to GeorgeFM in hosting “Friday’s Are Different” from 1-2pm till 2020. After a production hiatus for the past decade Greg in 2022 unveiled a brand new label (BetterBeats) alongside wife Leah Mathews aka ANNASASSIN to showcase their own individual productions. In 2026 the fire and hunger for new and exciting Bio 2026music still burns as strong as ever.

  • Yoshka

    Yoshka

Yoshka's early introduction to electronic music comes from Dub and Drum and Bass. Throughout the years he has been continually evolving towards 4x4, developing a refined Techno and House selection which speaks to his original dub influences. Having played numerous Auckland club nights and appearing on stage at Shipwrecked and Kauri Quakes, he brings a wide variety to his sets which is sure to keep the night interesting.

  • Child That Mind

    Child That Mind

Auckland-based DJ/producer duo Child That Mind were there right at the beginning of the Rave Cave, playing an eight-hour set that only ended when the USBs ran out. Since then they have continued to expand their selection, playing house parties and events across the motu - notably a sunrise set in Whatipu cave. Their sets explore a wide range of 4x4 dance music, from disco to house to techno and everything in between. The contrast between the duo's selections is what gives Child That Mind character on the dancefloor - Conor brings the funky cuts, while Oscar leans towards the deeper grooves. Whatever the setting or time of night, these two know how to keep things moving.
