🌟 Open Mic Night – 18+ Only Event
Did somebody say karaoke... or was that OPEN MIC?! 🎤🎶
Join us for our last event of the year and let’s finish with fun, laughter, music and connection!
Calling all singers, dancers, comedians, magicians, and entertainers – whatever your talent is, we’d love to see it!
If you don’t want to join in, that’s okay – come and watch (or join in a fun group activity instead!).
We’ll also have all the usuals:
🃏 Card games • 🎲 Board games • 🎯 Bingo • 📸 Photo table • 🍴 Finger food • 🥤 Drinks • 🎉 Lots of fun & social connection!
Cost: $30 per ticket
(includes finger food, non-alcoholic drinks, games, activities, photos, and the open mic show)

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE NIGHT FOR OPEN MIC
Practice your act before the night.
Be on time and ready to go.
Everyone gets the same amount of time to do their act.
We will let you know when your time is nearly up.
Have fun and enjoy yourself!
When you arrive, go to the check in table – we will help you fill in your details.
We will ask:
What type of act you are doing (e.g., singing, dancing, comedy)
What music you need (so we can get it ready)
If you want to be on the stage or on the floor in front of the stage
If you are using things for your act (like props or a costume)
IF YOU ARE WATCHING
Grab a seat, sit back, and enjoy the night!
You can cheer for people when they do their act (if you want to).
There will be games on the tables you can use if you want.
A round of bingo will also be played!
After you have registered and paid for the event, we will email you an Event Guide.
This will tell you more about what to expect on the night and explain how the Open Mic works.
AWSC Event Guidelines
This is an 18+ only event.
You are responsible for your own transport to and from the venue.
No alcohol is available at this event, and no alcohol can be brought into the event. (Non-alcoholic drinks are included in your ticket.)
If you require additional supports to assist you during the evening, please discuss this with your team to ensure they are available to attend and support you. This is important as no direct support is available on the night. There is a perceived level of competency for support workers in attendance.
Please note, there will be discussions occurring during the evening about friendships, relationships, dating apps, online safety, etc. If these are sensitive topics, please talk with your team before registering.
Everyone has the right to feel safe and respected. Anyone who intimidates or harasses another person will be asked to leave.
Photos will be taken during the event. You’ll receive copies of any photos you’re in. Please let us know if you DO NOT want your photo taken.
The night will be full of opportunities to have fun, meet people, and make social connections!

Can I bring a support person?
Yes! You are welcome to bring a support person with you.
Does my support person need to pay?
No, your support person does not need to pay to attend with you. We ask that you let us know if you are bringing a support person with you for overall numbers in the room.

What do you use my photo/image for and why do you ask for my consent?
We share event photos on social media to show others how much fun our events are.
However, we respect your privacy and if you decide that you do not want your photo taken, we will make sure that no image of you is utilised on social media when we promote the event/activity undertaken.
