What if tarot could be more than a way of predicting the future?
These small, supportive tarot circles invite us to explore the cards as a practice of reflection, intuition, connection and re-enchantment.
The aim isn't to memorise the meanings of 78 cards. It's to develop a relationship with them.
Across five themed gatherings, we'll explore the ways images, symbols and archetypes can help us notice patterns, ask questions, encounter different perspectives and imagine new possibilities.
Rather than searching for one “correct” interpretation of a card, we'll learn through looking, listening, conversation and collective interpretation.
The circles are open to people from all backgrounds and levels of experience. You might be encountering tarot for the first time, returning to a deck after years away, or already have an established practice.
No previous experience is needed.
What happens in a circle?
Each session includes:
Grounding & centring - We'll begin and end with a short grounding practice.
Exploration - We'll explore aspects of tarot's history, imagery and evolving traditions alongside the theme of that week's circle.
Working with the cards - We'll spend time looking, reading, asking questions and experimenting with different ways of approaching a deck.
Collective interpretation - We'll explore readings together and discover how the same card can speak differently to different people. Rather than searching for one correct meaning, we'll develop our ability to notice patterns, trust our responses and read intuitively.
Conversation & sharing - There will be space to share perspectives and experiences in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. You will never be required to share something you would prefer to keep private.
We welcome queer, feminist, decolonial and other approaches that question received interpretations of the cards, and recognise that tarot is a living practice that continues to change.
The five circles
Working with Cycles - Wednesday 23 September - Beginnings, endings, repetitions, transitions and return.
Images & Intuition - Wednesday 7 October - Looking closely at tarot's visual language and developing confidence in our own responses to the cards.
Reading with Nature - Wednesday 21 October - Plants, animals, seasons, elements and the more-than-human world within and around the cards.
Working with Contradictions - Wednesday 4 November - What happens when a reading refuses to give us a simple answer? Exploring ambiguity, tension and multiple meanings.
Inner & Outer Worlds - Wednesday 18 November - Using the cards to explore the relationship between our inner landscapes and the worlds we inhabit.
Each circle stands alone. Come to one that particularly interests you, several, or all five.
Do I need a tarot deck?
If you have a deck you enjoy working with, please bring it.
If you don't own a deck, don't let that stop you from coming. A small number of decks will be available to borrow. Just tell us when you book so we can make sure one is waiting for you.
About Calluna Vulgaris
Calluna Vulgaris has been reading tarot for around 30 years, first encountering the cards as a teenager as a way of understanding the self and connecting with other people.
Largely self-taught, their practice has also been shaped by books, courses, tarot circles and, most importantly, learning alongside other people.
They have facilitated tarot circles and workshops in community settings and particularly enjoy helping people develop their own relationship with the cards, rather than teaching one fixed way of interpreting them.
For Calluna Vulgaris, tarot is a language of images, archetypes, patterns and possibilities: a way to pause, reflect, connect and create small rituals of attention in an often difficult world.
About High Fidelity
Our circles take place at High Fidelity, a working atelier and creative space in Pankow, home to a small collective of Berlin artists and artisans.
Its showroom is a veritable cabinet of curiosities filled with art, vintage objects, handmade jewellery, curated vintage clothing, gothic perfume and soap, and other witchy treasures.
By gathering here, we're also supporting an independent creative space in Berlin.

Access
The circles are deliberately small, with no more than 10 participants.
Sessions are delivered in English.
There is a small step to enter the space and unfortunately the venue is not wheelchair accessible.
We recognise that access needs are individual. When booking, you'll have the option to tell us privately about anything that might help you participate comfortably. We'll let you know honestly if there is something we are unable to accommodate.
