Waminda Field Day

Waminda is only 30 minutes from Canberra and 30 minutes from Yass/Hume Hwy. Waminda is a small family farm that usually runs a small herd of cattle. There are large parts of new Open Woodland Restoration design. There are smaller parts of older Open Woodland Restoration and the contrasting ages of restoration makes for great learning opportunities.

8:30 - 9:00am - Arrival

9:00 - Welcome from Andrew Ward and introduction of our host, Dr Geoff Kay

9:10 - Welcome to Waminda by Dr Geoff Kay

9:15 - 11:00 Walking Tour

Waminda is a small 50 Ha farm and we can reach on foot areas of remnant Box Gum Grassy Woodland, restoration from 2015 on a small trial area and more recent restoration using both direct seeding and tube stock.

11:00 - noon - BBQ and Chat

We will come back to the shed after the walk and have a steak sandwich, cuppa and sweet snack. There'll be opportunity to talk with others.

At this event we will refine the Grazing Impacts Calculator (see website) and establish systems for ongoing support. We answer the question at a collective and individual level "How Do We Tell Our Story?"
