Event description

Opening Night — Friday 10 October, 6–8pm

Free entry, drinks provided, all welcome.

Join us to celebrate a new season of solo exhibitions at Gallery Unbound — featuring Iain McKay, Lucy Viechweg, Amy Canals, Margaret Christianson, Conrad Clark, and Kim Loughron.

Meet the artists, enjoy a drink from the bar, and experience a rich mix of perspectives in one vibey event.

Iain McKay — Kicking into Space

Iain McKay’s paintings are little stories about the beauty and absurdity of everyday life. They capture the tenderness of people, the tribal celebration of sport, the vitality of landscapes, and the bemusement of animals — from dogs to cows to birds. His works are both humorous and heartfelt, inviting us to see joy in the ordinary.

Lucy Viechweg — Wild Hearts

Lucy Viechweg paints from a deep connection to the natural world. Inspired by untamed landscapes and elemental forces, her oil paintings balance abstraction with realism, bringing the peace of rain, the power of wind, and the charm of wild creatures onto the canvas. With expressive brushwork and harmonised palettes, her works become a window to wonder and a haven of stillness.

Margaret Christianson — Gift

Created during winter travels through Queensland and New South Wales, Margaret Christianson’s Gift series traces encounters with shimmering seas, ancient landscapes, and migrating whales. Each piece is an offering, distilling the colours and emotions of these journeys into lasting works that celebrate the privilege of exploration.

Amy Canals — an exhibition

A Melbourne-based artist and textile designer, Amy Canals creates abstract works that burst with colour and joy. Her acrylic paintings draw inspiration from her background in textile and screen print design as well as her travels. For Amy, art is therapy, and her playful, vibrant pieces are made to uplift.

Conrad Clark — an exhibition

British-born artist Conrad Clark has lived and worked across the globe, developing a practice that spans painting, sculpture, and furniture making. His work reflects both craftsmanship and creative exploration, shaped by a career spent teaching and making in different cultural contexts.

Kim Loughron — an exhibition

Details of Kim Loughron’s exhibition will be announced soon.
