From 29 February – 25 May, Griffith University Art Museum will host Tanah Tumpah Darah, an exhibition showcasing large-scale banners, woodcut prints and cardboard puppets by leading Indonesian collective Taring Padi.Â
Taring Padi’s practice spans art, music, and theatre, exploring issues of sovereignty, environmental justice, and democratic freedom. Working for almost three decades, Taring Padi are internationally celebrated for their art and collaborations with other collectives around the world.Â
Alongside the exhibition Taring Padi has undertaken a residency in Brisbane, developing a large-scale public artwork and suite of public programs in collaboration with proppaNOW, one of Australia’s most important Aboriginal art collectives.
