The Centre for Neuroscience & Regenerative Medicine at UTS invites you to be part of the discussion: how can we make the greatest impact on Alzheimer’s?

The event featured addresses from leading Australian neuroscientist Professor Bryce Vissel; and New York Times bestselling author Dr Dale Bredesen (The End of Alzheimer’s, 2017).

It included an expert panel discussion with A/Prof David Burke, Director of the Older People’s Mental Health Service at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney; and Petrea King, CEO of the Quest for Life Foundation.

Alzheimer's disease is the single leading cause of dementia, which affects up to 50 million people around the world.

It is the number-one killer of Australian women, with more than 6 million Australians expected to be diagnosed with the condition in the next 40 years. The need to act is urgent.

Open Minded: Embracing new perspectives in Alzheimer’s hopes to establish a community that can play a role in changing the weight of opinion so that Alzheimer’s is seen as a disease that needs:

New thinking and approaches to treatment based on deep caring of the human being;
Respect of the whole person and their need for individualised care;
Excellent, diverse science and open-mindedness to embrace a range of approaches
