Co-Opera presents Puccini's 'Gianni Schicchi', for Italian Opera at Piccolo Family Farm as a part of A Taste of Italy: Griffith festival.
Star baritone Nicholas Cannon returns to perform the title role in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, widely considered to be one of the funniest operas of all time. Co-Opera bring a cast of leading South Australian singers in this comic farce featuring some of Puccini’s best music, including the famous aria 'O mio babbino caro.”
Ticket price includes a fully catered dinner using local produce by Limone Dining, matching local beverages, and a world class performance by Co-Opera in Piccolo Family Farm's Cellar Door. The ticket price is fully-inclusive.

Co-Opera return to Griffith to present the hilarious farce (and the only comedy written by Puccini) Gianni Schicchi, which features one of the most popular soprano arias in the operatic repertoire, O Mio Babbino Caro. The opera tells the story of a shady businessman who has been called in reluctantly by the Donati family to falsify the will of an uncle who has just died. He complies, but not exactly in the way the family were hoping.
Formed in 1990, Co-Opera are Australia’s longest running opera company. Known for their extensive tours of regional, and metropolitan Australia taking opera to the extreme corners or our country, with extended tours including SE Asia, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
This tour of the opera Gianni Schicchi began in May, 2022 where Co-Opera were invited to present the opera as part of the Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival, where they have performed for the past 30 years. The 12-strong cast are from the halls of Australian opera’s most experienced, and exciting artists, bringing to you a delightful comedy that will change your perspective on what you thought opera was meant to be!

About Piccolo Family Farm:
The Piccolo Farm is a fully functional farm that supplies Limone Dining with fresh produce daily. Sitting on 20 acres just outside of Griffith, the farm produces the majority of our herbs, garnishes, fruits and vegetables. We use sustainable farming practices, with all of our produce harvested by hand and free of chemicals and pesticides. The property features a citrus orchard, vineyard, vegetable and herb garden, and 2 acres of beautiful gardens with unique outbuildings.
