Opera Otago : Celebrating 70 Years
Description
Opera Otago is turning 70, and we warmly invite you to be part of a truly special celebration.
As New Zealand's longest-running opera company, Opera Otago has enriched the cultural life of our region since 1956. Generations of performers, volunteers, audiences, and supporters have helped create something remarkable. This anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate that shared history and the people who made it possible.
Featuring opera choruses, ensembles and solos, the evening will showcase music drawn from the extensive repertoire performed by Opera Otago throughout its 70-year history, alongside reminiscences from members who have shaped the company since 1956.
Whether you have performed with Opera Otago, supported productions from the audience, volunteered behind the scenes, or simply enjoy live music and the arts, this evening offers the opportunity to connect with the company's history and be part of its future.
During the evening, we are delighted to welcome Mayor Sophie Barker to officially launch For the Love of Opera, a new book by Mary Dixon celebrating the people whose passion and dedication have contributed in the longevity of Opera Otago.
