Opportunity Zone 2.0 Designation on The Western Slope
Description
Join the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT), the Grand Junction Economic Partnership, and the Business Incubator Center for a planning conversation about Opportunity Zone 2.0 designation. Your perspective and input are critical.
About Opportunity Zones 2.0:
The Colorado Opportunity Zones Program (OZ) is a federal incentive that encourages long-term private investments in designated low-income communities by offering tax benefits for investments in real estate projects and operating businesses. Investors receive tax incentives in the form of deferral and elimination of state and federal capital gains taxes.
The first iteration of the OZ Program is sunsetting in December 2028, however, through federal bill H.R. 1, Opportunity Zones will now become permanent and several aspects associated with eligibility requirements and benefits are subject to change. In accordance with these requirements, OEDIT is participating in a multi-month process to support the Governor in nominating up to 25% of Colorado's low-income census tracts to be opportunity zones.
