Orange Agricultural Institute Open Day

NSW Department of Primary Industries is open!  

Have you ever been curious about what happens at the Orange Agricultural Institute (OAI)? 

Did you know OAI is home to world-class research scientists and labs, a Biosecurity Collection of over half a million preserved scientific specimens, an Emergency State Coordination Centre, a Global Ag-tech Ecosystem, the first insect biocontrol quarantine facility in NSW and much more! 

It is also a working farm comprising of 183 hectares of land that supports 5 hectares of irrigated orchards with over 5000 fruit and nut trees, grapevines, a long-term grazing trial with over 1000 sheep. 

Come and see for yourself. We are open to the public!

There will be a number of tours running throughout the day. Tour tickets are limited. 

• Biosecurity Collections tour - this includes our Insect & Mite Collection and the Plant Pathology & Mycology Herbarium
