Slow Food Portland February Convivium: Oregon Agricultural Trust + 1000 Friends of Oregon
Event description
Join us on Thursday, February 22, for a conversation with the Oregon Agricultural Trust and 1000 Friends of Oregon to learn about pressures on Oregon’s working agricultural lands, and the ways we can help keep our farmers farming
25% of Oregon land is used for farming and ranching, and 64% of this land will change hands in the next 20 years! Oregon Agricultural Trust partners with farmers and ranchers to protect agricultural lands for the benefit of Oregon's economy, communities, and landscapes. 1000 Friends works with Oregonians to enhance our quality of life by building livable urban and rural communities, protecting family farms and forests, and conserving natural areas.
Join us for a conversation with both the Oregon Agricultural Trust to learn about Farmland Conservation Easements, and 1000 Friends of Oregon to learn about OR Senate Bill 1537 and it’s potential impact on Urban Growth Boundaries (UGB).
The more we know about working agriculture land issues, the more we can support keeping our farmers farming and ranchers ranching.
