Orenda Trio Return to Balingup!
Three World-Class Musicians Performing Exquisite Romantic Music by Female Composers
The performance will focus on female romantic composer's Clara Schumann Trio in G Minor for Piano, Violin and Cello (1896) and Louise Adolpha Le Beau Piano Trio in D Minor, Op. 15 (1877).
It is not possible to explore the piano trios of the Romantic Era without looking at one of its most distinguished, Clara Schumann, a defining figure of Romantic piano. Her 61-year career as a concert pianist led her to being a household name alongside of which she explored the world of composition despite the odds.
Her Trio in G minor for piano, violin and cello, (1896) is often held as her shining masterpiece. Orenda (Michael Howell, Alix Hamilton, and Adam Pinto), is excited to explore and unpack this exquisite work as they arrange it for their unique instrumentation of flute, viola, and piano.
The musicians will pair this work alongside the colourful Piano Trio in D Minor, Op. 15 by Louise Adolpha Le Beau, shining a new light on this often overshadowed composer.
