Organic & Biodynamic Farm Tour

Come take an immersive guided walk through our patch of paradise, delving into what we have learnt in the last 12 years on our journey. We are fully certified organic, harness biodynamic and regenerative principles, no-till, as well as natural farming and holistic grazing.

We have a small market garden that expands into the paddocks in the summer months, with all the produce sold to our local community. A new orchard in development (after losing half of our established orchard in the January storm), as well as rewilding native bush, pasture, agroforestry, and our beloved cows. 

Letting nature lead is our focus, as well as nutrient dense delicious food grown holistically. The majority of the farm was a self sown pine plantation when we became the custodians of the land, and we will speak into the process of bringing it back to life with biology and biodynamics.

The tour will make its way across and up hill country, with a reasonable level of fitness required. Please be prepared with warm clothes and sturdy shoes. Limited to 10 participants, so plenty of time for questions and curiosities.

About your host...

As a holistic food systems facilitator, Monique Macfarlane of Natural Wisdom teaches a variety of workshops such as biodynamics, planting by the moon, no-dig food growing, seasonal approaches to gardening and community-sufficiency. She co-creates with biodynamic, organic, regenerative, no-till, and natural principles on four hectares in Waihi that includes a small market garden, orchard, beloved cows, chickens, agroforestry and rewilding native bush.

Her heartfelt passion for food, localisation, and thriving nature is the foundation of her incredible offerings. Monique is an EatNZ Kaitaki, creates a bi-monthly cosmic gardening calendar for the Soil & Health Association, presented a keynote at the Goetheanum for the international Agriculture Conference, and finds her greatest joy in helping people back to the land, and themselves.
