THE WHAT
As business owners, Astella and I noticed that a lot of our high performing friends and customers have a love of good gin, good food, and great people.

So we thought "why not combine all of that goodness into one fabulous event and call it OriGin. Because it’s all about going back to the source".

THE WHY
In 2020, I decided I’ve had enough of wasted time and energy at terrible business networking events, so I took over the running of LinkedIn Local and LinkedIn Social Christchurch; two events that have quickly become renowned for providing interactive and engaging networking opportunities.

To put it simply, I was sick of walking into a room full of people, given a drink and something to eat, whilst being left to find my way in a sea of strangers.

There were always groups of people who already knew each other and it was daunting to break into other people's conversations. The effort never seemed to get any returns on the invested energy.

I wanted to change all of that. I reckon it’s just simple host responsibility to make sure everyone is comfortable and looked after. No different to someone coming to visit at your house; you welcome them, introduce them to new people and help get the conversations going.

That’s exactly what OriGin is all about.

THE HOW
You purchase a ticket and the magic begins! We put 50 amazing people together at the Sign of the Takahe.

You arrive and receive a special gin cocktail to get you started. We get beautiful food going, conversations flowing, and then Laura takes us on a journey of discovery of five gins from NZ and around the world.

We will have you shifting tables, interacting and meeting new people with every new gin you taste, we will have you kicking off conversations with CEO’s Founders, Business Owners, and Professionals from high performing backgrounds.   We do the hosting so you get to enjoy the experience without the fuss.
