Event description
PRE-SALES ARE NOW CLOSED. Door sales will start at 12:30pm on Sunday. $25 per ticket.
Join us at Corryong Memorial Hall for this unique performance from Australia’s own Orpheus Trio and special guest soprano Merlyn Quaife AM.
The Orpheus Trio was formed in early 2012. Comprising pianist Helena Kernaghan, violinist Kaori Sparks and cellist Sam Goble, the Trio enjoys the challenge of being an interstate, rural dwelling ensemble with members calling Albury and Castlemaine home. Orpheus has established itself as one of Australia's leading regional chamber ensembles and collaborates with a diverse range of accomplished musicians.
The Orpheus Trio performance will include a classical repertoire of various composers and will feature Merlyn Quaife, with whom they have collaborated with over time. A performer of great versatility, the distinguished soprano Merlyn Quaife was made a Member of the Order of Australia Award in the Queen’s Birthday 2013 Honours List for significant service to music. Merlyn has performed opera, oratorio, Lieder, chamber music and contemporary music to great acclaim throughout Australia and Europe.
Doors open at 12.30PM for a concert starting at 1PM - Afternoon tea starting at 12.45PM
