Event description

This event marks the second annual OSE/ISC Groundwater Institute for the state of New Mexico. The Office of the State Engineer (OSE) and the Interstate Stream Commission (ISC) are actively engaged in numerous programs and projects aimed at helping New Mexico prepare for a future with less available water and more demand for water.

The presentations are designed primarily for the well drilling community, professional engineers, and environmental consulting firms, but the event is also open to water resource professionals and representatives from local and state governments.

Presenters are professionals from OSE and ISC, sharing insights from their respective bureaus. We are also pleased to welcome special guest speakers from the New Mexico Environment Department New Mexico Tech.

Topics covered will include:

  • Rules and Regulations related to well construction

  • Well Records and Aquifer Mapping

  • Status of the State and Regional Water Plan

  • Regionalization efforts under §62-20-3 NMSA

  • Water Use In New Mexico

  • Basin Guidelines, Modeling, and Hydrology

  • General Well Construction

  • Groundwater & Discharge Permits

Note: Lunch will be on your own.

Certificates of Completion will be available upon request for those seeking credit through the OSE or the New Mexico Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Surveyors.
