Commune for a captivating culinary journey amongst the clouds as acclaimed cookbook author Julia Busuttil Nishimura crafts a feast for all senses at Melbourne Town Hall, set beneath the striking installation Einder by Boris Acket.

Busuttil Nishimura’s Mediterranean roots and mastery of market-fresh ingredients take centre stage in this intimate long-table affair, complemented by the mesmerising rhythms of a thunderstorm unfolding in real-time through light and sound.

The menu mirrors the storm’s raw chaos and beauty – meticulously crafted yet gloriously unpredictable, echoing the forces above and the seasons below. Each dish reflects a profound connection to land and produce, an ode to the fleeting impermanence of nature.

This rare, one-night-only event invites surrender to forces beyond control, whether on the palate or in the atmospheric surge above. As culinary and audio-visual artistry converge, the memory will linger long after the last bite.

Event Details

Inspired by Mediterranean traditions, the family-style dining of Ostro x Einder is all about generosity, and shared experience. Dishes are served in abundance for the table to enjoy together— just as they are across the Mediterranean, where food is a celebration of connection, and community. Smaller groups may be seated with others because good food is even better with new friends.

Due to the special nature of the event, specific dietary and allergy requests cannot be catered to outside of the set menu. At this stage the menu caters to pescatarian, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free diets. We will update all relevant ticketholder(s) if there are significant changes to the menu once released that may affect dietary requirements.
