This National competition happens all over the country, with winners from each local comp going to Tamaki Makaurau for a Grand Final!

It's for new comedians with 4 or less years of experience, and it's an incredible opportunity to help boost them closer to a career in comedy!

The 2025 Winner was Otautahi based comedian, Ben Vyas!

His win earned him a spot on the New Zealand Comedy Festival Gala when they came to Otautahi this year (First time in 10 years!)

If you or someone you know thinks they have what it takes, email info@meegwai.com to apply!
