OTel Unplugged EU 2026
Event description
Join us in Brussels on Monday, February 2, 2026—the day after FOSDEM—for OTel Unplugged EU 2026, an unconference shaped by and for the OpenTelemetry community.
Community collaboration is at the heart of OpenTelemetry. With OTel Unplugged, we’re launching what we hope will become a regular series of unconferences where project maintainers and community members come together in person to share knowledge, provide feedback, and help plan the project’s future.
What to expect with an unconference
Unlike traditional conferences, there are no predetermined talk tracks. Attendees propose and vote on topics, ensuring the agenda reflects the conversations you want to have. The day begins with a project update, then flows into breakout sessions where contributors, end users, and maintainers exchange ideas and tackle real-world challenges. Each group shares key takeaways with the wider community, building shared understanding.
The event closes with a roadmap session led by the OpenTelemetry Governance Committee, giving you a direct voice in setting project priorities. A casual reception follows, offering space to connect, continue conversations, and celebrate the community.
What you’ll gain
Whether you’re just getting started with OTel, already running it in production, or contributing to the project, OTel Unplugged offers a unique opportunity to:
Learn from real-world experiences shared by peers
Influence the OpenTelemetry roadmap
Connect directly with maintainers and contributors
Build lasting relationships within the community
We look forward to seeing you in Brussels for this special gathering of the OpenTelemetry community
