Rosa Good - "Other Side of the World" - Uncovered: An Original Music Showcase
Event description
Rosa Good has written lyrics, poetry and stories since she could lift a pencil. Writing has always been an escape for Rosa, making up fantasy worlds and stories about people like her. She has countless full notebooks and entries on her phone.
Music was coursing through Rosa's house growing up in Edinburgh, her dad lived and breathed it, so she has a plethora of inspiration, from Nirvana, to Billie Holiday, to Frank Zappa, and The Beatles. At a young age, her dad taught her the G and E chords, and she was hooked.. "He would play for us, and sing badly but with an undeniable passion that encouraged me to not care what anyone else thought. Just play. Just sing. For me, for him."
Songwriting is an outlet, flowing from Rosa, "I rarely sit down to write a song, it just presents itself, bursts out, at the most inconvenient moments - mostly while driving along mountain roads." Writing lyrics is her therapy; processing, understanding, and letting go of emotions and experiences though songs. Since being in NZ, nearly six years, Rosa has had her biggest surge of inspiration and space to write, for better or for worse.
Other Side of the World is a show which depicts love, heartbreak, adventure, life changing injuries, grief, and blissful moments with incredible friends.
