EPIC Families,

Join us at the OU College of Engineering in Norman for a middle school and high school focused Career Explorations field trip! Our students will explore engineering through a hands-on learning experience carefully led by OU student ambassadors. Together students will work collaboratively on an engineering design challenge led by Sooner Engineering Education Center (SEED) Ambassadors, student leaders in the Gallogly College of Engineering. Our field trip will taking place in our student leadership and engineering practice facility. No previous engineering classes or experience required. Epic Field Trip COST:

    • Epic Students: Free
    • Adults or siblings: Free
    • Teachers/Staff: Free
    • Parking: Free with this pass however pre-planning is essential. The free parking visitors lot is not close to the ExxonMobil Building. The ExxonMobil Building is located at the cross streets of Jenkins Ave and Felgar Street.  Print this OU Campus 1 Day Parking Pass

    ITINERARY: We will begin our day by meeting inside the ExxonMobil Lawrence G. Rawl Engineering Practice Facility. Student will then participate in the hands on activity led by the student ambassadors. After this families are free to enjoy the campus or the Fred Jones Art Museum that is free for students 17 and under and $12 for adults. This museum is located on the West side of campus.

    CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: Upon arrival, please check in with an Epic Family Engagement staff member who will be in Epic gear and located inside the front entrance to receive a copy of the schedule. We’d also love to see you in your Epic gear!

    • 11:30 Field Trip Conclusion 
    • 11:30 Lunchtime Lunch is optional and families will bring their own sack lunch to eat outside on campus in a courtyard or can enjoy the Food Court on campus.

    POLICIES: This Epic field trip is free and is for 6th-12th graders. You will register using Humanitix which will hold your spot for the field trip as a reservation. Parents, please register yourself and each of your Epic students who will be participating. This enables the school and the location to staff and plan appropriately. Our field trips do have a maximum capacity. Therefore, we ask that when registering your students, you only register Epic enrolled 6th through 12th grade students so that the spots are filled by our students.

    Students cannot be dropped off to attend a field trip without a parent or guardian unless they are of driving age and drive themselves to the field trip. You will need your student’s Epic ID number and teacher’s name when signing up for the field trip in Humanitix.

    This is a public event and photographs and or video may be taken during the activity. If you prefer your student to not have a photograph or video taken please let our Epic staff know during check in.

    SENSORY BAGS: Sensory bags will be available to check out for use at this event. Upon arrival, see any Epic Family Engagement team member to check a bag out and return all sensory bags to an Epic Family Engagement team member before leaving the event. There is a limited supply of sensory bags.

    CANCELLATIONS: As a reminder, if you sign up to come but are unable to make it, please cancel your reservation using your Humanitix confirmation email. This will open up spots for other families. Steps Here: Go to your Humanitix Confirmation Email. Click on "Manage Order", then Click "Refund/Cancel." Select ALL or manually select the tickets you need to cancel. Click the "Review" button, then Click the "Confirm" button.

    What is the inclement Weather Plan? If we have inclement weather, we will send out communication by email through Humanitix to let you know if the field trip has been canceled.
