Event description

Australian landholders play a crucial role in looking after nature. It takes passion, dedication and commitment, which is why it's great when landholders can come together to connect.

You'll hear from landowner speakers from across NSW and VIC about their work – the ups and downs, and the challenges, successes and learnings from their conservation journeys; and from groups like Land Covenantors Victoria, Western Murray Land Improvement Group, Holbrook Landcare, and the High Camp Covenant Cluster about the big things that can happen when landholders get together collectively. Expect to come away with new ideas and new friends.

We’ll also be facilitating a deep dive into what you need to better enable you in undertaking land management, restoration and protection. This is an important opportunity to tell us your feedback and priorities, which we’ll communicate out to policy and decision makers. Your voices matter, and we want to elevate them.

What to expect:

Panel sessions, guest speakers, Q&As, plenty of networking time, food and drinks, and the choice of 3 field trips:

  • Explore the conservation zones of Woomargama Station and hear from landowner Clare Cannon about why these have been critical for a successful farm business.
  • Experience the beauty of one of Chiltern’s largest privately owned remnant forest blocks and see a examples of different land management techniques used on the property – including an on-site demonstration of ecological thinning.
  • See woodland restoration at Warrangee Farm, where restoring threatened woodlands is also earning carbon credits, and visit a working seed production outfit that supplies local restoration projects.

Thursday 29th: Forum | Friday 30th: Field Trips. Tickets available for Forum only, or Forum + Field Trip.
