قصصنا: فن وثقافة في ظل الأزمات

You’re invited to a comforting gathering that honours the SA Arabic-speaking community’s traditions of warmth and togetherness. In collaboration with the History Trust of South Australia Migration Museum, we are launching a new website dedicated to the exhibition "Ahlan Wa Sahlan: Hospitality in Arabic Culture" (the exhibition was held from February to July 2023 at the Migration Museum). Following the website launch, we will hold a traditional Arabic food demonstration. Time permitting, a few participants will also have the chance to share memories and stories about a cherished Arabic food or beverage.

In a spirit of gentle connection, we will finish the gathering with a special time dedicated to community singing.

Please bring a plate of Arabic food or a drink to share, along with a recipe, and feel free to discuss and exchange recipes with others. This gathering offers a moment for all of us to connect and find comfort in each other’s company.

تدعوكم جمعية اللغة والثقافة العربية في جنوب استراليا إلى لقاء تكريمي للجالية العربية في جنوب أستراليا وهذا لافتتاح موقعًا إلكترونيًا جديدًا مخصصًا لمعرض "أهلاً و سهلا: الضيافة في الثقافة العربية" بالتعاون مع متحف الهجرة في جنوب أستراليا. سيتضمن اللقاء ورشة تحضير للأكل العربي التقليدي وإذا سمح الوقت، سوف تتاح الفرصة بالمشاركة بالذكريات والقصص حول المآكل والمشروبات المحبوبة لمن يرغب من الحضور وسوف ننهي الأمسية بوقت مخصص للغناء الجماعي

يرجى إحضار طبق من الطعام العربي أو مشروب للمشاركة، مع وصفة الطهي، ولا تترددوا في مناقشة وتبادل الوصفات مع الآخرين

Getting there by bus: Catch the bus 98C or 99C to Sturt street (Stop W1). From Sturt Street it is only a 1-minute walk to the Minor Works Building.

Getting there by car: There are street parking options in the area surrounding the Minor Works Building. For an easy parking solution, we suggest the UPark Central Market (car park entrance on 60 Gouger Street, Adelaide SA 5000). From there it is a 4 –minute walk to the Minor Works Building.
