Our Yard presents 30 Years of Rinse
Event description
This event takes place on stolen land of the Kaurna People. We respect and thank the Kaurna People on whose unceded land we live and dance.
Our Yard presents 30 Years of Rinse featuring IZCO (UK),Capo Lee (UK) and Freshta (UK).
Thirty years of legendary radio shows, record label releases and genre-shaping club nights is a cause for celebration. Welcome to Our Yard, Rinse FM.
Rinse have been the pulse of music and culture in London since their legendary first broadcast on the day of Notting Hill Carnival in 1994. For their biggest ever club show they will be joined by familiar faces that span the 30-year journey of Rinse, as well as up-and-coming talent from the world of UK Garage, grime, dubstep, breaks, 140 and more.Â
For their third party of the year, OUR YARD have the very special honour of hosting the Tarndanya leg of the Rinse FM 30th Birthday global tour. Our Yard takes inspiration from the diverse and culturally heavy dancehalls of London and the diaspora, and it's only fitting that we welcome the spirit of Rinse to guide us in coming together and celebrating our community - something that they have done with pride for so long.
All from the UK, Freshta, IZCO and the inimitable MC Capo Lee will grace the decks and floor for the big party. Off the back of a big UK/Euro summer, each of these artists bring their own UK sound to the mix while representing the London culture that came before them and that they're now a huge part of.Â
Adelaide's one and only Nelya will be on support, as well as a b2b from Hello Moto and DJ Cookie.
Free entry for First Nations - DM for a spot.
‘Our Yard’ is a new POC collective based on Kaurna Yerta. Grown out of a love and reverence for the sonic cultures of migrant communities both at home and globally, its aim is to bring together BIPOC artists and communities from both home and abroad.
