    Event description

Join us for a warm and intimate evening of lounge music with OUT of ABINGDON at Navigate Arts featuring a special support set from Tanja's very own BODHI TURNER. Warm fires, nourishing food and beautiful tunes from local and interstate guests- BYO-CHILDREN UNDER 16 FREE.

OUT of ABINGDON create soulful, acoustic, lounge music filtered from influences including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Kenny Burrell, Bjork and Nina Simone.

Tina’s sultry, honeyed vocals and grooving double bass accompanied by Warwick’s fearless expressive guitar and smoldering, understated vocals create a sensual atmosphere and dynamic stage presence!

Based in Brisbane, Australia, OUT of ABINGDON have numerous tours to Europe and the UK under their belt, playing venues throughout Scotland, England, Belgium, Paris and Berlin. OoA have built a loyal following here in Australia playing over 1000 gigs in the last 10 years and independently releasing 4 albums.

Expect big double bass grooves, blitzing guitar and vocal interplay as the duo continue to explore their acoustic styling playing brand new songs as well as old faves from their journey so far…

‘listening to Fullerton's warm, breathy voice is like being dipped in melted dark chocolate, Hargreaves' blues guitar is mesmerising, he plays with fluid energy, his husky voice complements hers… a soothing, sonic pleasure.’

    Broadway Baby EDINBURGH

'Very cool, very smooth, reminiscent of  'Stringman Sassy' and 'Tuck and Pattie' ... these guys are fascinating!'  Steve Austin, ABC Radio Brisbane

'Refreshingly unassuming...soft vocals, laid-back bass and cool grooves....unexpected contemporary covers' Three Weeks EDINBURGH

‘The duo create a soulful atmosphere where unpretentious musicianship is firmly centre-stage’
