Here is a workshop for all you portraiture enthusiasts!
Join us for a practical and hands-on "learn by doing" workshop that will show you the ins and outs of capturing outdoor portraits. You'll learn about using shallow depths of field, location lighting, backgrounds and portraiture focal lengths as you shoot with our husband-and-wife team of alternative models in the port of Fremantle. Set amongst heritage buildings, side-streets and the sleek exterior of the Maritime Museum, you'll come away with great images along with the knowledge to pose, position and photograph outdoor portraits.
This workshop also teaches you the differences between shooting portraits in natural light and using off-camera flash. You'll be using a set of Jinbei HD400Pro battery-powered lights for the off-camera flash lighting -- these are portrable, powerful lights that works with softboxes. Learn how to add a bit more pop and pizzaz to your portraiture with off-camera lighting and how to balance between ambient and flash exposures in your frame.
Whether you’re just starting out in portraiture or are a more experienced photographer, you’ll pick up great tips and techniques for creating portraits using natural light!
You’ll be led by professional photographer and portrait lighting teacher, Seng Mah, through the session and come away with great captures! It’s going to be a workshop that’s full of fun and, if you’re not a portrait photographer yet, it’ll make you fall in love with portraiture!
