Outward Bound Alumni Reunion
Event description
Outward Bound has been adventuring through the Aussie bush since 1956. We know you have great stories from your Outward Bound Australia experience, either as a participant or staff member, because we bump into people every day who tell us. We love hearing about your OB journey and welcome you to come and share it over a drink with OBA's current leadership.
We're welcoming both participants and staff alumni because there's a lot of crossover with participants who became part of the OB team and you might also bump into a participant/leader you met on your adventure!
The last participant reunion was in 2019 not long before bushfires hit the east coast and destroyed significant swathes of bushland and 80% of OBA's operational areas. We did not yield and rose from the ashes of those bushfires and the challenges of Covid in 2020 with a new leader, Loren Miller, and Head of Operations, Helene de Lagillardaie. Come and chat to them and Ian Wells, Head of Community, about the journey and the significant capital works we're undertaking at Outward Bound Australia's properties around the country and the variety of bigger, longer programs we're running again later in the year.
We turn 70 in a couple of years. I think that's cause for a BIG celebration and we'd like to grow our alumni database so we can invite more people. Did someone say Standard Course revival? Please forward this to anyone you know and if they can't make it, please ask them to email Ian.Wells@outwardbound.org.au so they're on the list for next time.
(The event is at Dentons because our Deputy Chair, Campbell Hudson, is a partner at Dentons and huge supporter of OBA!)
