Overcoming Birth Trauma

This event has passed Get Tickets

Event description

This workshop will help you to understand the root cause of your birth trauma and provide you with the guidance and tools to begin your healing journey in a safe space.

Whether your birth was two months, two years, or twenty years ago - your feelings matter and deserve attention!!

This workshop is facilitated by Holly Jones and Emma Snelgar - both with over a decade of experience each in supporting mothers in the perinatal space.

Holly is the Mindset Midwife from The Family Room WA, whose special interests include niche birth education, supporting birth trauma transformation and baby massage workshops.

Emma is a perinatal mental health nurse from EmPower Matrescence, whose specialties include birth debriefing, matrescence and postnatal emotional support.

Birth Trauma can impact every area of life - in this workshop, Holly and Emma will gently guide you through understanding the different aspects of birth trauma to help you unravel and address your own experiences using multiple tools tailored to both individual and group requirements.

Please note - your trauma does not have to be based specifically around your birth! Lots of people also have trauma from their fertility journey, pregnancy, hospital stay, health professional interactions, parenting, and other areas around this experience in your life. If this workshop resonates with you, there will be value in it for you.

Venue: On Sacral Ground is centrally located in South Perth, just one street away from the zoo! There is free parking out the back - follow the shared driveway around from #6 Charles St. Herbal teas and snacks will be provided. We will be seated on cushions on the floor - if you have any requirements to keep yourself physically comfortable, please bring what you need.

We encourage you to come by yourself - babies and small children, although beautiful, will be distracting through the workshop and may reduce positive results.

Disclaimer: this does not substitute traditional therapy and should not be treated as such. Holly is a registered nurse & midwife, and Emma is a registered nurse and non-practising midwife, and as such they cannot diagnose or treat serious mental health conditions. If you are not sure if this workshop is appropriate for you, please reach out to Holly or Emma first.
