Knowledge Circle: Ageing & Safety
Event description
You are warmly invited to join the Knowledge Circle in Newtown. This event is a collaboration between OWN NSW and Full Stop Australia for 16 Days of Activism.
About the Knowledge Circle
We will listen to you and discuss how the unique experiences of older women can help us to improve access to important support services. Your thoughts on how to overcome barriers and meet the needs of women in our community will be invaluable. This is a safe, supportive space and we look forward to sharing this time with you.
This interactive session will focus on issues of domestic violence, sexual violence, safety, and ageing - and how older women are exposed to threats from a range of perpetrators.
You may want to share the stories of your neighbours, friends, relatives or personal events which show how poorly served we are when it comes to services for older women.
Support & Appreciation: Full Stop Australia will provide a professional counsellor on-site for additional support as well as a catered afternoon tea for participants.
Each attendee will receive a $50 gift card in appreciation for their time and contribution.
Join the conversation to explore ways to ensure a safer future for older women in our community.
