Manufacturing businesses today face multiple challenges arising from rapid change and necessity to implement new business models and digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, cobots, sensors and immersive media to stay competitive or get ahead of the game.

One of the most frequently asked questions is “how can emerging technologies and new business models accelerate growth?”

This futuremap® workshop will address this and many other questions. The completion of the futuremap diagnostic assessment will guide you towards making the right choices to increase your odds of success from a creative and scientific perspective.

More than 750 manufacturing businesses have participated in futuremap so far, through either a facilitated workshop or a one-on-one discussion, and used the diagnostic to assess not only their current business capabilities and maturity, but also outline their future ambition, particularly in areas of leadership, innovation and Industry 4.0 awareness and utilisation.

Designed as a point-in-time self-assessment, futuremap enables manufacturers to map the current and aspirational state of their business against 13 key areas of industrial and advanced manufacturing competitiveness, helping them identify areas of focus for growth, potential investment, and wider opportunities to transform their business.

futuremap workshop facilitator - Simon Dawson, Director Industrial Transformation, IMCRC

Simon Dawson is an experienced manufacturing operations executive who has worked in his 35-year career across a range of different industry sectors including fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), industrial, automotive, rail and medical devices. Simon has a strong understanding of the links between operational improvements and an organisation’s financial imperatives. As well as driving organisational growth and transformation, Simon has helped many companies to solve tactical business challenges through the delivery of complex improvement programs.

The Innovative Manufacturing CRC (IMCRC) is an independent and for-impact cooperative research centre that helps catalyse the transformation of manufacturing.
