PŌ WAWATA: VISION BOARD CRAFT NIGHT
Event description
Ki a koe e Hiwa – I send my wishes to Hiwa 🌠
Brown Town & Tīrama Mai invite you to Pō Wawata — a Vision Board Craft Night guided by the light of Matariki. Join us for a cosy afternoon to gather, dream big, and honour Hiwa-i-te-Rangi, the wishing star of Matariki.
What is a Vision Board?
A vision board is a visual map of your goals and desires. It’s a space to collect images, words, and symbols that represent the life you’re dreaming of. It’s a hands-on way to give shape to your intentions and remind yourself of what you're calling in.
Who is Hiwa-i-te-Rangi?
Hiwa-i-te-Rangi is the youngest star in the Matariki cluster, and the one most closely associated with our dreams for the future. Traditionally, our tīpuna would send their hopes, wishes, and aspirations to Hiwa during Matariki, with the belief that if she shone brightly, those dreams might be realised in the year ahead.
Her name, Hiwa, means “vigorous growth” — symbolising the promise of new beginnings, abundance, and transformation. Much like wishing upon a star or making a New Year’s resolution, connecting with Hiwa-i-te-Rangi invites us to reflect on what we truly desire and to plant the seeds of that vision.
