Pacific Fair Studios presents a Gold Coast Film Festival production these school holidays with FREE kids cinematic workshops.

To celebrate the GCFF 20th anniversary cultural milestone and the Gold Coast as an Australian leading film making destination, we are inspiring the next generation to bring films to life.

Introducing kids to behind the scenes of movies in the following three cinematic workshops at Pacific Fair Studios:

1. Cinematic Animation

Create a thaumatrope to discover how animation was discovered to create motion picture and eventually moving cartoon images. Kids will draw an image on each side of a disc, depicting a different phase of the motion, and twirl it quickly between their fingers on a string to show the two drawings appears to blend into the one.

2. Cinematic Costume

Get creative to make a costume accessory and explore props to use in your upcoming theatrical unveiling.

3. Cinematic Film

Want to know the secret behind making something fly, disappear, or visit the bottom of the sea in movies? Kids will be shown how green screens work and get a printed photo in their costume to take home.

Please arrive 5 minutes before your session time so that everyone is check in and ready to go for the allocated start time. Unfortunately if you are more then 10minutes late for your booking, you may lose your spot.
