PACT UNDERGROUND: Singing Stones Presents Tangents
Description
After a beautiful year of gatherings, deep listening performances at the Petersham Bowling Club and radio shows on 2SER, we’re excited to close the season with a special PACT Underground edition of Singing Stones. Join us for an evening of immersive sound, light, movement and stage design, inviting you into a submerged world that sits some place between a sensory deprivation tank and a shared mental space. Bringing together three distinct live performances, the night will unfold as a space for slowing down, tuning in and experiencing live music beyond the everyday.
Tangents, Sydney-based quartet of Adrian Lim-Klumpes, Evan Dorrian, Ollie Bown and Peter Hollo melds together electronic production, experimental rock, jazz and free improvisation. Their live performances are spontaneous compositions that conjure beauty from the intuitive synthesis of human interaction and human-machine interaction.
gi is a musician on Gadigal land and makes electronic music that is marked by asynchronous rhytmnic programming, exploratory sound design and unconventional methods of recording and processing audio. Her music maps the grey zones between ambient, techno and IDM. She will joined on this night by durational performer and artist Ash Veitch.
Megan Alice Clune, a musician, artist and composer based on Gadigal and Wangal lands (Sydney, Australia). Her work explores the dynamic relationships between music, technology, the body and temporality through composition, performance and installation. Described as ‘visionary ambient’ (Rockerilla), ‘breathtakingly intimate’ (Bandcamp Daily) and 'a pristine exercise in precise simplicity' (Boomkat), Megan’s music portrays an emotional depth through a minimal sonic palette, delicately balancing textures that are at once rich and sparse.
Singing Stones provides a space for intimate music, shared presence and connection beyond the noisy undercurrent of the city. Whether you prefer to sit quietly and listen, let your attention wander, or simply feel like being among others, you’re welcome here. There’s no right way to experience the evening. Just space for us to settle in, reset your senses and be part of a collective listening experience.
Curated by Julien Mier and Thomas Thorby-Lister of Singing Stones, a deep listening live music event series and weekly radio show on 2SER. Come join us for the final gathering of the year, and share a moment of stillness, sound and connection with our community.
