2026 Paddle for Pedder
Description
We're making waves around the world in 2026, join the annual Paddle for Pedder!
We'll be heading out to the Tas Wilderness World Heritage Area, and paddling off on the waters which once were Lake Pedder. Meeting at Ted's Beach,this is an amazing opportunity to put a bit of love into a gorgeous part of Lutruwita/Tasmania with a disheartning history. The Paddle for Pedder show's that we are still here, showing up, getting loud and out there for Pedder even after 50 years of inundation.
Come along and paddle in a double sea kayak provided by Restore Lake Pedder, or bring along your own kayak, canoe or pack raft to ensure as many people can come out at enjoy such a magical environment.
All are welcome, indivudals who grew up going to Pedder who have personal stories to share and reflect upon, or those who have never set foot in the TWWHA, everyone makes a difference! No paddling experience necessary!

- Where are we paddling from?
We're setting off from Ted's Beach in Southwest Tasmania.
- Do I need my own kayak/paddle/life-jacket?
Not necessarily!
We have a limited number of seats available in double sea kayaks. We will provide paddles and life jackets for those who grab one of these tickets.
If you have your own kayak, canoe, or pack raft, you are welcome to come along and paddle with us. You need to provide all of your own PPE. You will not be allowed to join us if you do not have a life jacket.
- If I have my own kayak/canoe/pack raft, do I still need to get a ticket?
YES!
Everyone joining the Paddle for Pedder must register through this event page.
For those bringing their own water craft, please grab a BYO boat ticket.
- Do I need to bring anything on the day?
YES! You must bring along:
Water shoes (shoes you can wear in the kayak/water)
Rain jacket and wet weather gear
Water (there is no drinking water available out there)
Food for the whole day (there are no shops out there)
Sun protection (hat, sunnies, sunscrean, long sleeves and pants)
Your own Restore Lake Pedder sign or banner to show off!
- What time are we setting off from?
We will be meeting at 10am sharp for a safety briefing and introduction at Ted's Beach.
We will setoff as a group after this.
- I can't make it to the paddle, can I organise my own Paddle for Pedder?
YES!
