PADDOCK TREE PROTECTION & NATIVE GRASSLAND RESTORATION FIELD DAY

Paddock trees and native grassland communities are important natural assets that support biodiversity and agricultural productivity. These vital landscape features are disappearing from our environment.

Do you want to learn about the importance of paddock trees and native grasslands as well as learn how to establish and protect both of these natural assets on your property?

Then come along for a walk and talk field day with landholders Liz and Ken Fuschsen, David Smith from ANU Sustainable Farms and Glen Johnson from the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action.

Learn the history of Baranduda Homestead and observe practical demonstrations of native grassland restoration via scalping methods, which you can try on your own property. Learn the importance of paddock trees and how you can protect, restore and incorporate these landscape elders on your property to help support productivity and biodiversity.

Physical Fitness level required: EASY ( Walking/standing for a period of 2 hours or more required)

WHAT TO BRING

Wear sturdy, enclosed shoes, bring warm clothing, sun protection, and a raincoat or umbrella in case of showers
Bring a chair to sit on for lunch
If you are unwell on the day please remain at home in consideration of the health of others

While we are able to cater for gluten-free and vegetarian options at our events it is difficult to cater for every dietary requirement due to our limited funding. If you have dietary requirements outside of these two options please bring your own food and drink.
