Event description

Welcome to the inaugural Padel New Zealand Tour 2025, a nationwide series of tournaments designed to bring players of all levels together.
There will be three events in 2025 – starting off in Tauranga, then off to Wellington in the winter, and lastly Auckland in the summer—each offering the opportunity to earn official ranking points and showcase your skills.

  • 4 outdoor courts
  • Hosted by The Padel Club (2 Turiwhatu Street, Papamoa Beach, Papamoa 3187)

Tournament Format

    3-day event (Friday–Sunday)
  • Friday: Check ins, warm up with your partner, get familiar with the courts and club and some social games (not required but we'd love to see you there)
  • Saturday & Sunday: Games from morning to evening (required to attend for all players)

        Categories:
      • A Grade Men, 16 teams - FULL
      • B Grade Men, 16 teams - FULL
      • A Grade Women, 8 teams - 1 team spot left
      • B Grade Women, 8 teams - 3 team spots left
        Maximum number across all 4 grades: 96 players/48 teams(Note: there may be less depending on entries)
        Match format:
          • Pool play(note: the game format may be different for different grades depending on number of total entries)
              • Two sets, tiebreak if 1-1

          Player License

          • To play in national tournaments arranged by Padel New Zealand you will need a player license. 
          • The license fee is $8 per tournament or $20 per annum(June-July). Credit card fees apply. 
          • Licenses help Padel New Zealand maintain accurate records of player participation, skill levels, and ranking points throughout the season.

          Registration Entry Fee

          • Registration entry fee: $50 per player. Booking fees apply. 
          • Payment is made during online registration below


          Ranking Points

          All Padel New Zealand’s tournaments will have Ranking Points.

          • Points will be awarded at each tournament based on match results.
          • Rankings will be updated on our website after each event.

          Frequently Asked Questions

          1. Who can enter these tournaments?
          Anyone with a valid Padel New Zealand player license is welcome, regardless of skill level or nationality.

          2. What is A grade and B-grade?
          A‐grade: for competitive players with stronger skills - upper intermediate to advanced, around 3.7+ and over (PNZ Player Skill rating system or Playtomic levels)

          B‐grade: Ideal for new, lower intermediate to mid intermediate players or more casual/social players, around 1-3.5 (PNZ Player Skill rating system or Playtomic levels)

          3. I don’t have a partner—can I register?
          Please find a partner before registering - you will need to enter as a team. Your local club may able to assist to find partners or looking in the current Whatsapp groups to set up games is another option.

          4. What equipment do I need?
          A standard padel racket and non-marking shoes. HEAD padel balls are provided, and a limited number of HEAD demo rackets will be available to borrow at some venues.

          5. How do match formats and scoring work?
          Matches are typically best-of-three sets under standard padel rules. Minor variations are possible if court time is limited.

          6. What if it rains or if there are unforeseen circumstances?
          For outdoor events, a rain day may be arranged. If an event is rescheduled, we will notify participants via email.If event is cancelled, participants will receive a refund.

          7. How do I get or renew a player license?
          You can purchase the player license at Padel New Zealand's website

          8. Can I change divisions after signing up?
          Please contact Padel New Zealand. If there’s space in the new division and it aligns with your skill level, we will ask the club hosting the tournament and making the draws to consider your request. 

          9. Are there prizes?
          Yes, there will be medals and some sponsored prizes for the finalists. Exact details differ by tournament and will be announced before each event.

          10. Are spectators allowed?
          Friends and family are welcome to come along and support. Each venue will have its own food and beverage options. There could be limited space in some venues.

          11. Where can I find the results and updated rankings?
          Ranking points will be tallied after each tournament. Results will be posted on the Padel New Zealand website 1 week after the tournament. Keep an eye on at social media for announcements.
