Frequently Asked Questions
1. Who can enter these tournaments?
Anyone with a valid Padel New Zealand player license is welcome, regardless of skill level or nationality.
2. What does my $75 registration fee cover?
Your $75 entry fee goes mainly to the hosting club to help cover event costs such as court hire and related expenses, with a smaller portion supporting Padel New Zealand’s event-related costs.
Both the hosting club and Padel New Zealand contribute additional funds beyond this fee, as tournaments are expensive to run.
3. I don’t have a partner - can I register?
Please find a partner before registering - you will need to enter as a team. Your local club may able to assist to find partners or try to contact other players in the various padel Whatsapp groups.
4. What is an approximate guide for the A and B grades?
A Grade: For competitive players with stronger skills - typically strong upper-intermediates through to advanced level players.
B Grade: For more social players - generally low-intermediates to mid-intermediates. (Please note: B Grade can still be competitive, as many players choose this division due to the large player base and limited spaces in tournament.)
Players are responsible for choosing the grade that best matches their level.
5. What equipment do I need?
A padel racket and a pair of court shoes. HEAD padel balls are provided, and a limited number of demo rackets will be available to borrow at some venues.
6. Are spectators allowed?
Friends and family are welcome to come along and support but there could be limited space in some venues of the Tour, please contact the venue directly to enquire - some may need spectators to book a spectator space prior. Each venue will have its own food and beverage options.
