Welcome to the inaugural Padel New Zealand Tour 2025, a nationwide series of tournaments designed to bring players of all levels together.
There will be three events in 2025 – starting off in Tauranga, then off to Wellington in the winter, and lastly Auckland in the summer—each offering the opportunity to earn official ranking points and showcase your skills.

Join us in Wellington July 18-20th
  • 3 indoor double courts, 1 single (warm up) court

  • Hosted by Padel House NZ Address: 48A Kemp Street, Kilbirnie, Wellington

Registration 
  • Registration entry fee: $75 per player. Humanitix booking fees apply(100% of Humanitix booking fees donated to charity). 

  • Registration closes Tuesday July 8th at 9pm unless sold out prior. Limited spaces so be quick to not miss out!

Tournament Format

3-day event (Friday–Sunday)

  • Friday: Games commencing from mid-afternoon to evening - required to attend for all players.

  • Saturday & Sunday: Games from morning to evening - required to attend for all players.

Categories:

  • A Grade Men - 12 teams

  • B Grade Men - 12 teams 

  • A Grade Women - 8 teams 

  • B Grade Women - 5 teams 

Number of teams per grade may change slightly depending on registrations.

Maximum number across all 4 grades: 74 players/37 teams (due to size of venue and number of courts)

Match format:

  • Pool play 

  • Two sets, tiebreak if 1-1

  • Golden point (no deuce)

  • Players self referee. Players to call the score so officials and spectators can easily follow the game.

  • Matches under standard padel rules.

  • Minor variations are possible if court time is limited. 

Note: The format could vary some for different grades depending on number of total entries.

Full match format information will be provided prior and at tournament.

Schedule/Draws

The draws will be done by the hosting clubs through the Tour. Schedule and draws will be released at beginning of the week before the event commences (week commencing July 14th).

Player License
  • To play in national tournaments arranged by Padel New Zealand you will need a player license. Please note that all players for Wellington will need a new license for the new financial year starting July 1st, 2025 and valid to June 30th, 2026. All previous licenses purchased will expire June 30th 2025.

  • Please purchase the player license, ideally when you register for the tournament but at the latest before closing of tournament registrations July 8th 9pm.

  • The license fee is $25 per annum for the new financial year July 2025-June 2026. Credit card fees apply. 

  • Licenses are required by International padel standards for any tournament organised by a federation. They also help Padel New Zealand maintain accurate records of player participation, skill levels, and ranking points throughout the season.

Ranking Points

All Padel New Zealand’s tournaments will have Ranking Points.

  • Points will be awarded at each tournament based on match results.

  • Rankings will be updated on our socials(top 10) and website(full list) after each event.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who can enter these tournaments?
Anyone with a valid Padel New Zealand player license is welcome, regardless of skill level or nationality.

2. I don’t have a partner—can I register?
Please find a partner before registering - you will need to enter as a team. Your local club may able to assist to find partners or try to contact other players in the various padel Whatsapp groups.

3. What is an approximate guide for the A and B grades?
A‐grade: For competitive players with stronger skills - strong upper intermediates to advanced levels.

B‐grade: Ideal for more more casual/social players - lower intermediate to mid-intermediate levels.

4. What equipment do I need?
A standard padel racket and non-marking shoes. HEAD padel balls are provided, and a limited number of demo rackets will be available to borrow at some venues.

5. How do match formats and scoring work?
Matches will be 2 sets and tie break if 1-1(first to 7). Golden Point - no deuce play. Pool tie breaker will be calculated on games won in pool play. Top 2 teams in each pool qualify for play offs.

Players self-referee but there will be access to an official from the club or Padel New Zealand to call in at disputes/queries. 
6. Are spectators allowed?
Friends and family are welcome to come along and support. There could be limited space in some venues of the Tour. Each venue will have its own food and beverage options.
