Painting a Surfboard
3-week series of classes
Have you ever wanted to paint a surfboard to display as a work of art?
The aim of these 3 sessions is to teach you how to:
- Clean and prepare the surface of a second-hand surfboard for display purposes.Â
- Create a design on paper.Â
- Develop your design and transfer the artwork onto a surfboard.
- Then paint/colour the surfboard.Â
- Finally varnish it.
Equipment:
- Six second-hand surfboards are available,Â
- pencil, paper,Â
- water based house paint/ acrylic paint/gouache,Â
- wax comb (from the surf shop),Â
- mask,Â
- gloves,Â
- water based estapol/varnish,Â
- water based primer.
Dates: Tuesday 26/11, 31/11, 03/12.
Time: 1:00 - 4:00 pm

About the tutor
Kim is a qualified Textile Designer/Colourist. She has conducted one Surfboard Design Workshop at a local High School. She also organises the Life Drawing Sessions @ WAG.
