    Event description

Did you know that your mind cannot think of other things while creating, and simultaneously, your brain is flooded with dopamine, the feel-good chemical that helps motivate you?

In the JULY WORKSHOP, we will paint a PORTRAIT. You can choose to create a SELF-PORTRAIT, a portrait of your MATE, or a beloved CELEBRITY. We will focus on capturing the essence and idea of the person, rather than striving for exact resemblance. So relax, even if you think, "I can't draw a person." We will take inspiration from indigenous artist Vincent Namatjira and his famous "Gina."

The Painting/ Creative Expression workshop will be on Friday, July 19th, from 7 to 10 p.m., at Melbourne Latvian House, 3 Dickens Str. Elwood.

Everyone is welcome, all ages, including those who know how to paint and those who don’t. The aim is to enjoy and unwind, connect through art with self and others, and explore without the pressure of the outcome in a supportive and relaxing environment.

All materials, including the atmosphere, will be provided.

The entry fee is $40. For regular attendees, it is $35. For Youth, Retirees, or those in Hardship, it is $15.
