Painting with Yamile Tafur Rios

Acrylic is a great place to start if you’re new to art. It’s easy to use, dries quickly, and lets you experiment without over thinking things. You can try out different techniques, build up layers, and see results straight away making it a fun and flexible way to get creative. You’ll explore a variety of surfaces, including canvas, paper, and wood, learn how to prepare and prime each one while discovering which suits your style best. Throughout the course, you’ll develop essential skills such as paint application, mixing and thinning, layering and blending, and using a range of brushes and tools to achieve different effects. You’ll also begin creating your own compositions, working with diverse subject matter such as still life, portraits, and animals and wildlife. No prior experience is needed; just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.

Entry instructions

There is a ramp from the front carpark to the main entrance. The lift to the first floor, is located just inside the main entrance, on the lefthand side and opposite the stairs. The lift dimensions are: 2100mm (h) x 1450mm (d). The door is 880mm (w). The theatre is accessed from the first floor.

Toilets

TAC has left-hand transfer accessible unisex toilets located upstairs and downstairs. Gender-specific bathrooms are also available on both floors.

Accessible parking

There is one accessible parking space in the front carpark. If you require accessible parking, please feel free to use this space. If you or someone in your party has mobility issues where access to the TAC carpark is essential, please contact the Centre on 6293 1443 and we will reserve a space for you.
